Einstein EXPOSED ...Fraud...Fraud...Fraud

This book should be on the Best Seller list for the next century. It's publication has been a long time coming. Finally! someone has come to expose Albert Einstein for the moron, fraud, and one lacking in moral character in all phases of life. Not only did Einstein mislead many academics and those pursuing real math and physics, but distorted religious views by readily accepting himself to the level of godhood.

May the sands of Time erase his memory.

More anti-Semitism on Amazon!!!!

This book was written by the same guy, self-published on Create Space (Amazon) who has flooded Amazon with anti-Semitic garbage. He is a hateful nutjob.

I have not read this book, but know quote a bit about Albert Einstein, as I have several biographies. Mileva was also a physicist, and it is certainly possible that she worked with him on the Theory of Special Relativity. It is equally possible that she did not.

Was Milva Jewish? I'm not sure. No. She was Serbian, and was Serbian Orthodox. That is why the author wants to give her credit for the theories. She was NOT Jewish. The only reason. The idea that she gave Albert a lot of help has been looked into for quite a few years. No actual evidence has been found that she was intrinsic in his scientific affairs. No proof that any scholar will accept. But of court, the author is not a scholar, simply a spittle throwing anti-Semite. But he knows he has an audience..

She might have been. They divorced early. Much earlier than the Theory of General Relativity, the principal theory, came out, so there is no case for her having anything to do with that. She lived in Switzerland with the two boys. Albert lived all over th e place.

Mileva was probably a nice woman and a good mother, and even a good physicist, but she did not help Albert significantlyi.
Now Einstein was a bit of a hermit, unless he got to hand out with other physicists. To call Albert and fraud and give all the credit to Mileva, if th is is what this books does, is total nonsense.

Applied Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics

This book is fantastic! It is the fourth edition of the popular textbook on biopharmaceutics. The authors have maintained the excellent standards of previous editions, by clearly explaining the concepts while keeping mathematical derivations to a minimum. The "practical focus" sections show the application of pharmacokinetics in a clinical setting. A new chapter on targeted drug delivery and newer biotech drugs is very timely and relevant. Overall, this is an excellent book on biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. It is recommended not only for the newcomer, but serves as a valuable reference in any library.

I used this book as a help while studying for a pharmacokinetics course in pharmacy school. I found it to be of little use for this purpose.
Reading one chapter to learn a concept was not helpful as there was little focus on important details, just a lot of little picky information that really wasn't necessary. And looking up one particular piece of information was even difficult as vague examples and rambling sentences made reading the entire chapter a must.
As a review tool, the problems at the ends of the chapters were not helpful, either. The problems went from too easy to fantastically difficult with no in between.
As a student this wasn't a helpful reference or study tool.

About the Author
Garrett M. Fitzmaurice, ScD, is Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health and Director of the Laboratory for Psychiatric Biostatistics at McLean Hospital. A Fellow of the American Statistical Association and advisor for the Wiley Series in Probability and Statistics, Dr. Fitzmaurice's areas of research interest include statistical methods for analyzing discrete longitudinal data and methods for handling missing data.

Nan M. Laird, PhD, is Professor of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health. A Fellow of the American Statistical Association and Institute of Mathematical Sciences, she has published extensively in the areas of statistical genetics, longitudinal studies, missing or incomplete data, and analysis of multiple informant data.

James H. Ware, PhD, is Frederick Mosteller Professor of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health. A Fellow of the American Statistical Association and statistical consultant to the New England Journal of Medicine, he has made significant contributions to the development of statistical methods for the design and analysis of longitudinal studies.

great addition to the literture on longitudinal data analysis

While the text by Diggle, Heagerty, Liang and Zeger now in its second edition is the first and in my opinion still the best book to cover the theory and methods of longitudinal data analysis, the subject has such great importance in biostatistics and clinical trial research that a number of excellent competitors have now come. This text is certainly one.

Nan Laird and James Ware are Harvard Professors of Biostatistics with a great deal of experience studying and publishing research on longitudinal data. Along with Fitzmaurice they have put together a book that provides a strong foundation in the methodology and a wealth of applications based on their experience.

Perfect for the applied researcher

If you need to do longitudinal analyses, and have a moderate mathermatical background, this is a book you should get, particularly if you use SAS. The authors present a wide variety of models clearly, describe their advantages and disadvantages, and illustrate how to use SAS to fit them. They keep the technical level modest (a little use of matrix algebra, but no calculus; not in theorem-proof style) while not sacrificing needed detail. In addition, they provide, at the end of each chapter, two sets of references: One at a similar level to this book, and one with more advanced material for those who wish (and are able) to explore it.

My favorite introductory statistics book

The authors have done a masterful job. They've created a book that is accessable to those without a strong mathematics background, but still interesting to those with such a background. The scope is broad, yet one does not feel "shortchanged" on any topic covered. They cover both linear and generalized linear models, with and without mixed effects. Part IV contains what the authors call advanced topics such as missing data and multilevel models and their lucidity, given such brief treatment is astonishing.

Wonderful!

I purchased this set to give my father, who is a fan of the late Mr Seeger, and a self-taught banjo player. He was absolutely delighted by the book, which has both very elementary fundamentals and more difficult pieces to practice. The book is filled with tiny snippets: anecdotes, quotes and cartoons. The book definitely gives you the feeling that Mr Seeger is teaching you himself. I haven't watched the DVD, but my father assures me it's more of the same from the book. Definitely recommended for fans of folk music, of Mr Seeger in particular, and those who really want to learn how to play the banjo.

Very easy to follow and understand

We are learning the banjo at my house and so we ordered Pete Seeger's lessons. He is not as much a "picker" as he is a strummer in this style. This created some great dialogue and insight for us. It has been very helpful to have it as we learn certain aspects of playing.

At first glance the DVD might seem rather demonstrative but Seeger in his great earthy skill teaches us not by instruting but by showing us the spirit of the music and by encouraging us to play along with him. In doing so he avoids the usual boring instructive (of many many other steel picking books) and lets the student join him right off with an effective frailing technique he demonstrates and describes quite clearly in his book. The book and DVD are a wonderful journey towards happiness on the banjo for any Seeger fan with that great Seeger "C" tuning and chords that are easy to handle and I love the way Pete just got me singing right off with songs. It's truly a wonderful path towards Seeger's singing world and I highly recommend it to those who wish to get this world singing. Good luck!

A VERY SPECIAL BOOK

Every so often you run across a book, either an "adult" book or a children's book which, after reading the first couple of pages, you come to the realization that you have come across something different, something quite special! Archibald's Swiss Cheese Mountain by Sylvia Lieberman and illustrated by Jeremy Wendell is one of those special books! I cannot remember when I have been so delighted with an original work such as this one! There is something quite special about this story, and the so very many lessons to learn from reading it.

Archibald is a young mouse who lives with is family in Mr. Hochmeyer's General Store. Archibald is a young mouse and is learning about life; is wanting to spread his wings, so to speak, and is filled with the want, wonder, need and hunger for adventure that most young people (a mouse in this case) are naturally filled with at that age. Archibald is lucky, he has a mother that is filled with wisdom and does not mind sharing it. "Measure with your whiskers," Momma Mouse repeated. They are the width of your body. If your whiskers fit, so will the rest of you, my son," and "things within such an easy reach aren't always most desirable," are but two examples.

This entire story is based on Archibald's adventures in Mr. Hochmeyer's store. It is a story of adventure, discovery of his physical surroundings and indeed, discovery of himself as a mouse. Our little furry friend is, for the most part, driven by a preoccupation for food...what youngster isn't driven by this? Or is this just an excuse to do what comes naturally for the young and young at heart, exploration of their physical limitations and to experience life on their own and to its fullest? I have my own suspicions, but each reader can make their own mind up about this. Anyway, throughout his adventures, momma's wisdom and advice is always with him.

This story hit rather close to home for me. My mother was much like Archibald's mother in that she was full of wisdom and good advice. And like Archibald's mother, she was wise enough to know that I had to experience life on my own, to have my own adventures and that you can give a child all the advice you want, but the child is going to test their limits anyway. "Smother the boy and spoil the man," was one of my mother's little sayings. I could relate to this little mouse as he and I had and have many of the same characteristics. The author has wonderful insight into a child's mind!

The story is very well written and Mrs. Lieberman has used a lyrical style that is absolutely captivating. The story flows in a way that makes the entire work a true page turner. Hidden within the prose is all kinds of good advice, some quite obvious, some not, but nevertheless, all sound and all good. Over and over again the author stresses that that there will be obstacles in life, indeed fears of the unknown, but that these little bumps can be overcome. The story is about hunger, not only physical hunger, but intellectual hunger, and is told at a level that children will fully understand. The author seems to have the ability to put these points across in a very enjoyable and fascinating manner.

The art work in this books is great and in many ways rather unique. The artist, Jeremy has used what I call a slap-dash method of mellow but bright colors and has paid very close attention to detail. A cookie is filled with chocolate chips, a Swiss cheese is filled with holes, a can of beans is labeled a can of beans. Facial expressions on our hero and the other mice, people and critters (a large orange cat with green eyes) fit the situation perfectly. The art work goes perfectly with the well written text. The illustrator has captured the spirit of the story perfectly.

This is a perfect read-a-long book. The story is great, the text is quite readable and the pictures quite eye catching. As with most children's books I review, I gave this one a "kid test." It was read to two second grade classes and one first grade class. The book was an absolute hit and I was asked for second readings, and indeed, in one class, a third!

The book is will constructed and should be able to survive the handling of many little hands. The paper is of excellent quality and the print style is very easy on the eyes. The size of the book makes it perfect for group readings, or if one on one, fits perfectly in your lap along with the kid. The reading level on this work is designated at between ages 4 and 8, which I feel is about right.

Recommend this one highly. Do your child a favor and get this one for her or him. Do your self a favor and read it along with the child!

Hurrah for Archibald

Forget Mickey Mouse, welcome to the world of Archibald, an adorable mouse with a big heart and a grand sense of adventure. Archibald is finally big enough to go into the world alone and find his own food. Mother has taught him to never enter a opening unless his whiskers fit, "If your whiskers fit, so will the rest of you, my son."

Archibald soon learns that being on his own can be scary. When he discovers Swiss Cheese Mountain, he knows this will feed him for a very long time. But tackling Swiss Cheese Mountain is just the beginning of his troubles!

Archibald is so cute and curious, children will enjoy reading of his adventures. The illustrations are wonderful and they really depict the true nature of this special little mouse.

Archibald - the next greatest thing

Archibald is adorable! Kids will love him in this, his first adventure. He's young, sweet, innocent and curious about the world around him - just like you! This is a book that kids will want to read, and have read to them, over and over. The illustrations are especially sweet, really conveying the cuteness of this mouse. Whoever this illustrator is will go far! My kids and I loved everything about this book. Highly recommended.

The Army Moves In

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 galvanized the nation, and none were more on edge than the residents of California and the West Cost. Fearing an attack, the Army took up strategic positions-and one of them was the Disney Studio.

DO NOT buy this otherwise excellent Disney WWII art book because it has NO illustrations!

This is a very informative paperback and I would have enjoyed seeing the thousands of illustrations so vividly described, but not pictured. The absolute MAJOR disappointment is the book is NOT illustrated and the website that would have shown the Disney archive illustrations is not available! Reading the history of the WW II art treasures without experiencing them is like going to a Disney Pixar movie wearing a pair of eye patches.

Service with Character

I'm a pretty sure that David Lesjak wrote Service with Character: The Disney Studio
& World War II for me. My Master's degree focused on World War II history. And when I crash my way through Disney books it is often this era my mind wanders towards. So I am pretty sure that Lesjak wrote this title mostly so I can finally have my curious questions answered.

David Lesjak in Service with Character: The Disney Studio & World War II details the efforts of the Walt Disney Studio in supporting the American, and Allied, war effort. He provides detailed chapters on the home front, insignia creation, propaganda and training films and contributions to print media. Along with these chapters that provide a transactional history of the studio's efforts, Lesjak provides a detailed look at the development of the failed Gremlins live-action film and all its complications. As a companion to the chapters, the authors provides a detailed list of supporting artifacts that can be viewed online. And he reprints letters and messages of interest in a series of Appendixes.

Overall I was impressed with Service with Character as a solid historical monograph that has been well researched and written in a clear manner that even non history buffs could read. The topics did satisfy my interest on a number of topics, like insignia. I am pleased to now have this volume in my Between Library for easy reference. My only quibble is around the lists of supporting collectibles for viewing. I really wish that some of them could have been included as illustrations within the text. It would likely be cost prohibitive to print images of the numerous items listed. I am still old school reading print copies. And it is difficult to reference a website during my prime reading time. So, reading through the artifacts I was inspired to go look for some of these objects. At the time of this posting, the website supporting the book with the collectibles is not yet up.

The book really illuminated this period of Disney history for me. And the book makes it clear that the Walt Disney Studio was financially pressed during this era, and much of it was due to Walt Disney's own efforts. Disney legitimately supported the American war effort and his choices lead him to lose money during a time where his film markets were already dwindling. For example, the short film he made for the Treasury Department The New Spirit further limited his markets by providing a free Disney short to theaters. Therefore, they did not need to order the newest Disney short to bring in an audience. And it is remarkable reading the struggles Disney went through to get paid by the U.S. government while being accused of price gouging on a product that was actually cutting into Disney profits. And the story of Disney's insignia production, which was completed for free and always in demand, was a topic I have wanted to read about for awhile. As one reads through the chapter one can easily grow to admire the dedication of Henry "Hank" Porter who took the lead on this Disney morale initiative for the armed forces.

Service with Character is a must own for Walt Disney Studio history fans. The text does an excellent job outlining a key moment in studio history. Additionally, World War II history enthusiasts will also enjoy this book, since it shows one company's war efforts. In many ways, Disney is one example of the many companies who's production was reoriented towards the war and struggled with diminishing profits and dwindling work forces.

For me, Service with Character has filled a key need in my Between Books library. I love the detailed accounts of film and insignia production found in the text. And I cannot help but admire the efforts of Walt Disney and his staff for keeping a studio open while finding their own avenues to support the war effort.

So very helpful

My recovery has taken a meaningful turn for the better as I use this excellent book. So many issues that I've not heard raised or discussed, during years of OA meetings, are found here. Particularly helpful have been the concepts of "allergy" (an abnormal reaction, a reaction that "normals" don't have) to certain foods and to certain other things, and the resulting unmanageable, addicted cravings - for those foods, for certain people or relationships, for other things - which are the very essence of our disease. Many OA groups have forgotten our roots - the generous sponsorship by recovering AAs of the very first OAs and the use of AA literature until OA could get on its own feet - and no longer have even a passing acquaintance with AA's Big Book. I am grateful for this study guide, and I recommend it to every member of the fellowship who still suffers, even if only slightly or only every now and then.

A New Hope

This study guide has been incredibly helpful to me. Although I have been in program since 2012 and had almost 2 years of wonderful, serene abstinence, I relapsed approximately 1.5 years ago and have been in and out of the hell of compulsive eating since. I first found the e-book for Kindle and began reading it. That led me to download the print version from the website, which includes many excellent forms for use in working through the Step Four inventory. In combination with listening to a well-known AA workshop with "Joe and Charlie," this study guide is helping me gain a much deeper understanding of my true condition as a compulsive overeater and to solidify my understanding of working the Steps as outlined in the AA "Big Book." I now have a few days of abstinence behind me and a much greater hope that I can look forward to many more, taking it one day at a time with the help of my Higher Power. I am reviewing Steps One, Two, and Three in preparation for completing my inventory with the assistance of my sponsor. I see so much clearer now that the 12 Steps are quite simple and they are put down in a particular order for a very specific purpose: that I may recover from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors.
